Kids
We strongly believe in teaching children of every age about God's endless, eternal love for them in Christ Jesus. Parents are expected to be the primary spiritual caregivers of their children. That's why every child is welcome and encouraged to participate in the main services at our church, even though we offer a full nursery and kids' church.
The goal of Awana Clubs is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. Fun, friends, games and creative teaching make Awana Clubs a great experience for all who come. We offer Awana Club for children grades K-12 on Wednesday evenings from 6:15 - 8:15 pm.
Your kids will have fun, make life-long friends, and learn exciting bible stories at SVCC Kids Church! We offer two classes that are age-appropriate and taught by caring volunteers. Kids Church is provided as an option for kids ages 4-years to grade 5. Kids are dismissed for Kids Church after worship and announcements in the worship service.
An active nursery program is provided from 15 muinutes before service to 15 minutes after service for pre-K kids aged birth to 3 years. Your kids make friends, have fun at church and learn a lot about God's world and his Word in the nursery!
Little ones are always welcome in the main service. If your child needs to leave the service, a fully furnished "Rocker Room" is available across from the nursery--complete with a changing table, cot and toys for older siblings.
How doe s a church that works with so many kids ensure that children are safe?
We looked at the best practices for Kid Safe programs and have implemented them at SVCC.
Here are some of our policies:
- Every children's worker must submit background check application (
Volunteer Application )
- Everyone who works with children must be fingerprinted
- Every classroom door has an unobstructed window or must remain open during activities
- During services, our ushers observe classes several times to make sure children are safe
- No children's worker may ever be alone with a child or children
- When two adults are working with children, they may not be related
- Choking hazards are not allowed in our nursery
