History & Apologetics Seminar
Where did all of these churches come from? What makes one denomination different from another? How am I supposed to defend my personal beliefs when there are so many mixed messages being sent by different groups cliaming to represent Jesus? Can Christians agree on anything?
Do these questions resonate with you?
If you're like most of us, even though you know there is a lot of good going on out there, you find the religious landscape of Christianity confusing -- and in many ways discouraging. Pastor Steve Babbitt's seminar on Church History and Apologetics is intended to help everyday believers and skeptics alike get a clearer picture of the core beliefs of the Christian faith, as well as to as to promote unity in the body of Christ by seeking commonalities that transcend today's ever-blurring denominational lines.
Participants will be given the tools to:
- Identify the central doctrines of the Christian faith
- Identify eccentric doctrines within the Christian community
- Identify false doctrines, especially those of cultic groups
- Understand the current landscape of Christianity in the modern world (and hopefully work toward unity in the body of Christ)
- Soundly defend their personal beliefs
All Visitors Welcome
This seminar is open to all. Skeptics and those from different denominational backgrounds are welcome to attend. While the seminar will be taught from the perspective of an evangelical Christian, great respect will be shown to those of different faith backgrounds in the seminar. The intention is to build understanding and to bring clarity to the confusing landscape of modern Christian faith expressions. Believers in Christ will, it is hoped, be encouraged in their beliefs and strengthened in their understanding of the teachings of Jesus.
